What does my phone warranty cover?

All handsets have a manufacturer's warranty that covers manufacturing and internal faults. The warranty period is at least 12 months from date of purchase of the handset. In some cases proof of purchase may be required. Some warranties differ, depending on the manufacturer - please contact them for full details.

The warranty does not typically cover the following:

  • Cracked/smashed/scratched outer lens (plastic screen covering the LCD)
  • Cracked/smashed/leaking LCD
  • Broken or missing antennas
  • Scratched/cracked phone casing
  • Broken batteries
  • Broken chargers
  • Broken battery clips, either on the phone or the battery
  • Broken battery connections (gold colour connectors on the phone or the battery)
  • Broken charger connectors/pins (on phone)
  • Missing/broken keys on keypad
  • Worn key pads (number/letters wearing off the keys)
  • Broken SIM card holders
  • Liquid or impact damage
  • Overcharging the battery
  • Any defect arising as a result of failure to follow instructions in the manual
  • Unauthorised dismantling/repair/testing of the mobile or accessories
  • Use of non-approved accessories
