Inventures are on the move themselves to new premises at Lawrence House. |
The challenge set by the Inventures management team was to enable their staff to work as if they were in the office, but from any location.
This meant accessing key corporate applications running on the company's Local Area Networkand full remote access to email on a handheld device. |
|
As a long-standing customer and with an in-depth understanding of their work practices, Grapevine implemented a two pronged strategy to give the Inventures mobile workers the level of access required.
Tapping into the mobility features of the company's Microsoft Exchange environment, Grapevine recommended the V1210 Windows Mobile smartphone to provide full wireless synchronisation with each user's Outlook account.
This means emails are dealt with as soon as they arrive, calendar planning is continual and contactsare accessible, both locally and on their Global AddressList, on each device.

The second part of the mobility strategy to create remote, seamless usability for those members of the Inventures team requiring full use of the company's LAN, was addressed with provision of the latest high speed data card.
Connection to the rapid Vodafone High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) network and in conjunction with Inventures' VPN, means that in a nutshell, any application that can normally be run in the office can now be mirrored via the data card on the user's laptop.
This functionality means that the Inventures' Project Managers have a valuable time-saving tool at their disposal as they no longer have to wait to return to the office to access key data or update internal systems.
