Grapevine has a novel way of passing on their Christmas greetings this festive season, with the help of pupils from Peasdown St. John Primary School. The Widcombe Parade-based company received the artistic input of the youngsters when creating the visuals for their 'e-Card'.
Judging was made difficult with the high standard of entries. Eventually it was decided to award a joint first prize to Gracie Oake of Red Class and Molly Llewellen of Blue Class. Rewarding their help, Grapevine has donated £150 into school funds and the competition winners each received a £15 gift voucher.
Grapevine's Sales Director, Peter Boby, explained the background of the activity: "Grapevine decided as a company that because of the drain they place on the environment, we would not be posting out traditional Christmas cards. However, we still wished to pass on our greetings at this special time. We felt that it would be great to the involvement of a local school and support a good cause. In return, we have an excellent Christmas design to send as an e-mail greeting."
Miss. Holloway, the teacher who supported the competition at Peasdown St. John Primary, praised the winners: "I would like to say a big "well done" to all of the pupils, as the drawings were excellent. Also I wish to say thanks Grapevine for their support, as it will help with the purchase of a digital camera." |
